Andrea Duval joined Bankwest in 2020 as a graduate seeking community and connection in a new city. As a proud lesbian of Mauritian descent, she found belonging through the Unity & Inclusion networks and quickly became one of its most passionate advocates.

 

Now serving as Unity Chair, Andrea leads initiatives that make Bankwest more inclusive for LGBTQIA+ colleagues and customers. She's helped raise thousands of dollars for LGBTQIA+ youth through Wear It Purple Day, supports partnerships with organisations like Pride WA and the WA AIDS Council, and played a key role in making Bankwest's systems and policies more inclusive and accessible.

 

Andrea also brings inclusion to life through storytelling and education: from co-developing Ally training sessions to producing the 10 Words of Pride video series, which showcases inclusive language through Noongar language & Auslan. Her focus remains simple: creating a workplace where everyone feels safe to show up as themselves."
