Human Library
Every atom in your body, my body, and every human that has ever existed, was created in the chaos of space. The Big Bang gave us hydrogen, while the rest was forged in the fiery hearts of ancient stars and then exploded into all corners of the cosmos. The calcium in your bones, the breath in your lungs, and the iron that moves in your blood all began as debris from exploded stars. It seems strange, considering we are all the same, that we continue to separate ourselves through labels, categories and identities. When we choose to label things and put them in boxes we unintentionally create presumptions, prejudice and bias.
Open the boxes, remove the labels, and get to know the real humans behind them.

At a Human Library Book Café – Discover the stories behind assumptions, challenge preconceptions, and discover inspiring stories that invite you to 'un-judge' the world!
To become a Human Book with the Human Library project, individuals apply, take part in training, and share their personal experiences to help challenge stereotypes and promote understanding. The process begins with an online application form, where applicants outline their motivation for participating and the life experiences they wish to share, in line with The Human Library Organization's guidelines. This is followed by an interview to determine suitability for the project. Successful applicants then complete training before officially being "published" as a Human Book.
